If you had an opportunity — hypothetically — to acquire a superior version of one of your vehicles at a great price from someone you trusted, would you consider it? Even the idea of parting with with the current version feels like it could be totally regrettable, even though it needs work that you just feel like you’ll never get around to or is not financially feasible on such a vehicle — hypothetically?

Clarification: this is... just hypothetical.

The new one will have the same problems. Plus, mine is already near the top anyway. I’m not really a fan of transverse V6's, and Nissan isn’t the greatest.

I think it depends on which of my vehicles:

Truck: no way. Sentimental value is higher than any price tag.

E30: yeah. I like it but the next step up is a M3 so yeah.

Mazda: eh. I like my car a lot but it's primarily used for work so the bigger engine or nicer interior wouldn't be helpful.

In my current case, no. I wouldn’t trade up the 4Runner to a fancier version of the same year. I don’t want leather, or a sunroof, or the better stereo (which was only any good if you crank it up a bit too loud).

If I was driving, for example, a base E-class Benz and someone offered me the top-of-the-line model, or an AMG version? YES!

I would get a Tercel with lower miles if available...maybe. Depending on other stuff. I doubt I could find one nice enough to bother upgrading at a price I could afford. I have no desire to change anything on the Abarth. Perfectly happy with the one I have!

It would mean either a newer top-spec Mazda6, and/or a Mazdaspeed6. Both options are more than acceptable.

Dang. That's a tough one. I would be hard pressed to sell the RatRunner to acquire a 4Runner in better shape. I've had it for nearly 3 years, I barely drive it, but I love it.
